Icelandair carry-on rules are strict, with specific dimensions and weight limits that must be followed to avoid having your bag checked at the gate. 
You're allowed one carry-on bag, typically up to 21.6 x 15.7 x 7.8 inches (55 x 40 x 20 cm). The 7.8" dimension is smaller than almost all other airlines.
They also have a 22 lb (10kg) weight limit on their carry-on bags.
They also allow passengers one small personal item that fits under the seat. Passengers are expected to put their bags in the gate's measurement box to ensure compliance.  They are strict and there are hefty fees you will be required to pay if you have to gate check your bag.
